Mistakes that were made with me
That I would try to avoid with my own children
Not that mistake is quite the right word, but it’s close.
- Art. I would want my kids to feel confident in their art. My sense of ability to express myself with art was crushed at some point in my early teens. I think that could’ve been prevented.
- Procrastination. I would want my kids to be able to do the work they don’t want to do. I think it’s a skill that can be taught and encouraged early on. I don’t think growing up with a depressed parent who stayed in bed all day some days was particularly helpful.
